CAPE FEAR SORBA FORUMS ARE LIVE! START CHATTING!!!

Hello everyone!!!!

I am proud to announce that we have now opened the forums at CapeFearSORBA.com! You can find a direct link on the home page on the navigation bar!

This post will explain to you some of the rules of the forum and how to access your account. If, after this post, you still cannot access your account or we have somehow missed creating a profile for you, please email me at austincycles@gmail.com.

Your account for the forums is made up of a couple bits of information. Your username is your first name, last initial, and the last 3 digits of your IMBA/SORBA membership number. Your password is your IMBA/SORBA membership number.

Example:
John Smith
IMBA/ SORBA ID #: 123456

Login Username:
johns456

Password:
123456

We recommend you change your password as soon as you login [Profile>Account Related Settings>Choose password]

It is required that your Display Name be your real first name and last initial (Not to be confused with your Username/ Login name. Your Display Name is the name other people will see you as). If you edit your display name, it will be changed back.

This is a Cape Fear SORBA only forum and we see no reason why anyone should be called anything but their real name. It should also help us cut back on the trash talk that has been a problem with other similar forums used by the Cape Fear Region in the past.

Remember, the board moderators retain the right to modify or delete any post we deem inappropriate. So post wisely and be thoughtful. We want to allow a lively board to flourish but if people get out of hand we will take care of the problem!

Remember, if you have any issues logging into your account for the first time please feel free to email me at austincycles@gmail.com and we will fix the problem as soon as possible.

Welcome to the forum folks! Start chatting!

Reminders: Upcoming events

Hello everyone! This is just a reminder of a few upcoming events.

First, we have the big workday/club meeting that is scheduled for this Saturday at the Brunswick Nature Park. The workday will run from 9am to 5pm and we will be building the new beginner trail! Please bring rakes and shovels. Additional tools will be provided by Cape Fear SORBA.  Remember to bring food for the day if you are planning on being out there all day. Don’t worry about it if you can only be out there for a few hours to! We would be happy to have you for as long as you can help! It all will help make this trail amazing!!

The workday will be followed by a club meeting with elections for the new year at the top of the agenda. The club will provide Hamburgers and Hotdogs but we need you to help us out by providing side dishes to supplement the meal!

DIRECTIONS
If coming from Wilmington, follow the signs across the bridge for US 17N/US 74. Take the exit for State Route 133/Southport/Oak Island and make a left off the exit ramp. Go approximately 7 miles and you will come to the Brunswick County Nature Park on your right. Enter the park and drive all the way to the very back where you will find a round parking lot across from a covered picnic shelter. That is the parking lot we will begin our day in. If you come later in the day someone will be stationed at either the parking lot or the picnic shelter to direct you.

CCORS Blue Clay Race April 17th

The other reminder is that on April 17th we will finally host out first race of the CCORS race series at Blue Clay! Details can be found at ecvelo.org.

The club is looking for volunteers for the event as well! We need people to help with timing, parking, event setup, and to be course marshals. Please email with the times that you are available to help to austincycles@gmail.com. It would be greatly appreciated!

We are hoping for a huge turnout folks, so don’t disappoint! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me!
