Trail Name: The Brunswick Nature Park

Location: Leland, NC

Trail Length: Currently approx 7.2 mtb specific miles. Additional miles under construction.

Hours and Rules: Open Dawn to Dusk .This park is gated and will be closed at dusk by local police. Please DO NOT RIDE WET TRAILS. Riders are required to wear helmets.

About BNP: This park has recently been established in 2010 and holds a lot of potential as a great multi-use park. Cape Fear SORBA is working with the Coastal Land Trust and Brunswick County Parks and Recreation to design and build mountain bike specific trails on this property. The park is about 912 acres in total. We are excited to have recently completed building 7.2 miles of custom built single track with two rock gardens, two wood structures, several wood jumps, and some clay table tops. We are also planning (and seeking funding for) a pump track and skills area that will be built near the picnic shelter and parking lot located near the mtb trail entrance in the park.

The unique aspect of Brunswick Nature Park, is that you can ride the trails nearly any time. Unlike the Blue Clay Bike Park this trail handles rain remarkably well and drains very quickly. When Blue Clay is wet you can always consider Brunswick as your riding alternative.

If you are in the mood for something different, there is also a kayak launch, picnic pavilion, and about 3.5 miles of scenic hiking trails to enjoy.

The trails we have completed are the beginner (Canebreak), intermediate (Gator Loop), and advanced loops (Copperhead).

Just added in 2017: FlyTrap Trail. 

Canebreak, the beginner section, was built using mini-excavators and we have elevated it so it stays nice and dry. This section is flat and fast with a lot of berms to keep you moving along. Its very easy for just about anyone to ride at any skill level. Gator Loop, the intermediate section, is more typical singletrack trail. Still mostly flat, it meanders through the woods with a bit of elevation change and one big switchback near the end to up the challenge factor a bit. Copperhead, the advanced loops, are farther from the parking lot and has more technical challenge. As of right now it is very fast and flowy. Thanks to funding received from Brunswick County and a grant via Specialized Bicycles we were able to add man made technical trail features like drops, wooden obstacles, and rock gardens.
